Govt Receives 26 Bids From 21 Firms Including JSW And Jindal Steel For Auction Of Eleven Coal Mines

The government has received a total of 26 bids for 11 coal mines on offer under the fourth tranche of auction of coal mines.
"A total of 26 bids have been received (both online and offline) against 11 coal mines. Two or more bids have been received for 5 (five) coal mines," the Coal Ministry said in a statement on Wendesday (2 March).
The process of fourth tranche of auction of coal mines for sale of coal was launched by the Ministry of Coal on 16 December last year.
The last date of submission of technical bid was 28 February.
"As part of the auction process, technical Bids comprising of online and offline bid documents were opened here today (2 March) at 10.00 am onwards in the presence of the bidders," the ministry said.
The online bids were decrypted and opened electronically in the presence of the bidders, it added.
A total of 21 companies including JSW Steel Limited, Jindal Steel and Power Limitedhave submitted their bids (both online and offline) in the auction process, the ministry said.
The bids will be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary Technical Evaluation Committee and technically qualified bidders would be shortlisted for participation in the electronic auction to be conducted on MSTC portal from 24 March, it added.
