One India One Election
The India Foundation will be organising a symposium for the topic One Nation One Election on November 26, 2016 in celebration of the Constitutional Day at the Nehru Museum and Library, Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi.
The topics up-for discussions will cover the constitutional and legal barriers which would need to be changed for the purpose of conduction simultaneous elections for the Vidhan Sabha and the Lok Sabha, including streamlining the process by constitutionally amending Article 83, 172, 85 and 174.
Eminent speakers such as Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union Minister for Law and Justice), Shri Suresh Prabhu (Union Minister for Railways) and Dr. S Y Quraishi (Former Chief Election Commissioner) will be part of the discussion.
