Airbus Helicopters and Indamer Aviation have partnered to offer advanced after-market services for helicopters in India, greatly enhancing the growth of the country's rotary-wing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem.

Indamer has been authorised by Airbus Helicopters to offer MRO services for Airbus choppers at their facilities located in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Nagpur.

On Friday (8 December), Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated the Nagpur facility.

The event was attended by Romain Trapp, the Executive Vice-President of Customer Support and Services for Airbus Helicopters; Prajay Patel, the Director of Indamer Aviation Pvt Ltd; Rémi Maillard, the President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia; and Sunny Guglani, the Head of Helicopters at Airbus India and South Asia.

"Building and supporting a sustainable end-to-end rotary-wing aviation ecosystem in India is key for Airbus Helicopters. With Indamer, we aim to cater to our growing fleet in India and the future potential while at the same time bring in the technical competencies that will help advance India’s helicopter MRO ambitions,” said Airbus' Trapp.

More than 10 years ago, Indamer created its rotary-wing MRO division to cater to the growing needs of Indian customers for helicopters. "The recognition from Airbus is a direct outcome of the company’s commitment to this focus. With the right support, we maintain our belief that the maintenance requirements of Indian customers can be effectively fulfilled domestically,” said Indamer's Patel.

The Indamer-Airbus Helicopters MRO will expedite servicing times and foster a more effective post-sale experience for Airbus helicopter customers. This will benefit not only those in India but also those throughout the broader South Asia region.

Airbus Helicopters is growing its industrial presence in India, aiming to establish the foundation for a well-developed and extensive aerospace ecosystem within the nation.

Currently, critical technologies and components for every Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopter are designed, produced, and serviced in India.

Indamer, the preeminent MRO operator for helicopters in India, has a widespread presence in various locations such as Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, and New Delhi.

Airbus has dominated the domestic civil and parapublic helicopter market, contributing to more than half of the new registered deliveries since 2010.

At present, over 125 Airbus helicopters, including globally renowned platforms like H125, H130, H135, H145, and Dauphin, are operational across the India and South Asia region.

These helicopters are primarily used in sectors like energy, commercial, and business aviation.
