Delhi Firm Wins Contract To Build Kanjurmarg Metro Car Depot For Mumbai Metro Line-6

Delhi-based construction company, Sam India Builtwell Pvt Ltd, has been declared as the lowest bidder for the construction of Mumbai Metro Line-6's Kanjurmarg Depot, reports the MetroRailGuy.
In October 2023, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), which is executing this metro line, had invited bids for the Rs 508 crore project.
The depot’s site along the Eastern Expressway Highway (EEH) will consist of 18 stabling lines, three inspection bays, four workshop bays, an 811-m-long test track, operations control centre, administrative buildings, and staff quarters.
The 15.31-km-long Metro Line-6 stretches from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (EEH) and passes through Jogeshwari, Western Express Highway (WEH), and Powai.
The fully elevated line gives interchange facilities for four other metro lines namely Adarsh Nagar of Line-2A (Dahisar to DN Nagar), Seepz village of Line-3 (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ), Kanjurmarg West of Line-4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali) and JVLR station of Line-7 (Andheri (East)-Dahisar (East)), apart from two suburban railway stations — Kanjurmarg and Jogeshwari.
Comprising of 13 stations, the major portion of the line will run through Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road, an elevated corridor that will link the WEH and EEH as well as the North-South and East-West regions of Mumbai.
Sam (India) Builtwell Pvt Ltd, has constructed depots for Delhi and Lucknow Metros, and is currently building Bhopal Metro’s Subhash Nagar Depot in a joint venture with KEC International, and more locally Mumbai Metro Line-3’s Aarey Depot.
