To enable ‘ease of booking’ tickets through a digital transformation of its ticketing system, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has integrated its ticketing service within the One Delhi mobile application (app).

The integrated facility will allow commuters the ease of planning uninterrupted journeys that seamlessly combine both metro and Delhi city bus services.

Currently used for generating QR tickets for Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses, the One Delhi app now serves as a comprehensive platform for streamlined travel by including QR tickets for Delhi metro, as well.

The facility was launched at Metro Bhawan jointly by Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC; Ashish Kundra, Delhi Transport Commissioner; and Pravesh Biyani, Head, Centre for Mobility, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-D), in the presence of other senior officials. The IIIT-D manages the One Delhi app for the Delhi government.

The app offers all the details, including ticketing options, of the national capital’s bus services.

DMRC has been offering the sale of digital QR tickets through multiple channels like the DMRC Saarthi (Momentum 2.0) app, WhatsApp, Paytm, DMRC travel app, and so on, as well as Phonepe and Ridlr (for Airport Express Line only). Around 1.2 lakh digital QR tickets are sold daily through these channels.

Before this move, the One Delhi app was used for issuing digital QR tickets for DTC buses only. The average number of daily ticket sales is 1.5 lakh per day with around 3 lakh active users.

The integration of QR tickets for metro and DTC buses on one app will add one more channel for issuing Delhi metro tickets and will help commuters use one single app for booking their metro and bus tickets.

The app also offers integrated trip planning for buses and metros. By inserting your desired starting point and destination, the One Delhi mobile app will generate a comprehensive itinerary that seamlessly combines both modes of transportation.

This feature eliminates the need to switch between multiple apps or consult different sources for bus and metro schedules.

The inclusion of DMRC's ticketing services within the app represents a significant milestone in Delhi's journey towards a more interconnected and efficient urban transport system.

"Whether you need to purchase metro tickets, locate nearby stations, or plan a multi-modal trip, this user-friendly application covers all requirements. Passengers will benefit from a more streamlined and user-friendly experience, allowing them to make better use of their time and resources," DMRC Executive Director Anuj Dayal said.
