Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and health department officials at the progress evaluation meeting.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Wednesday (26 July) that the Centre would adopt Uttar Pradesh's "health mela" model nationwide.
Additionally, the state's "dashboard" model for monitoring the utilisation of operation theatres in hospitals will also be implemented across the country.
During a press conference, the Union Minister expressed his appreciation for the various successful health programmes being carried out in the state.
Mandaviya highlighted the significance of the "health mela" initiative, which takes place every week at primary healthcare and wellness centers in Uttar Pradesh. Up to three lakh underprivileged individuals receive treatment at these fairs each week.
The Minister emphasised the intention to replicate this model throughout the country.
Accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mandaviya convened a meeting with health department officials to evaluate the progress made by the Centre and the state government in enhancing health services for the public in Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh government has developed a digital platform for vaccination, which is commendable. Additionally, they have created a dashboard to track the utilisation of operation theatres in all hospitals.
Mandaviya announced that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to introduce e-RUPI in the health sector.
The central government plans to implement this scheme across the entire country, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their benefits through direct benefit transfer.
When asked about the current state of the Covid pandemic, the Minister acknowledged that while the situation has improved in the country, there are still isolated cases. Therefore, it is important to remain cautious.
However, the overall risk factor has diminished, according to the Union Minister.
Mandaviya announced that in the near future, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Adityanath will inaugurate the construction of critical care blocks, district health labs, and block level health units to enhance the infrastructure facilities.
