MMRC Partners With ACES To Enhance Digital Experience For 625 Million Passengers On Mumbai Metro-3

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) on Tuesday signed an agreement with ACES India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACES Saudi Arabia, for providing mobile infrastructure services at Mumbai Metro Line-3.

The contract, signed during the LEAP-2024 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 4 March, underscores a strategic partnership aimed at providing uninterrupted mobile connectivity to Metro-3 commuters.

"ACES is a leading International Neutral Digital Infrastructure company with rich global experience and our partnership will be instrumental in powering the digital experience to 625+ million Passengers annually,” said Ashwini Bhide, IAS & Managing Director, MMRC.

Under the contract awarded for a duration of 12 years, ACES will be responsible for providing mobile infrastructure services, including advanced 4G and 5G technologies serving more than 625-plus million passengers annually across a total stretch of 33.5 kilometres, including 27 stations, platforms, concourses, and tunnels with seamless coverage, ultra-high speed and enhanced user-experience.

First underground corridor

The 33.5-km long Metro-3 corridor running along Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ is Mumbai's first underground metro corridor.

It will connect the Cuffe Parade business district in the extreme south of the city to SEEPZ in the north-central with 26 underground and one at-grade station.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation, responsible for implementing Mumbai Metro Line 3, commonly known as Aqua Line, has targeted to open the first phase of connecting Aarey and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), in April 2024. The second phase between BKC and Colaba will be ready by October 2024.
