Mumbai Metro One has launched an innovative ticketing solution, introducing TapTap wristbands designed for seamless and contactless payments during metro commutes. This cutting-edge system aims to enhance convenience and efficiency for passengers traversing the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route.

The TapTap wristband features an environmentally friendly silicone-based material, ensuring non-allergenic properties and gentle wear on the skin. Priced at an introductory offer of Rs. 200, commuters can now "wear their tickets instead of carrying them," simplifying the boarding process significantly.

Passengers can effortlessly embark on their metro journeys by tapping their wristbands at the AFC gates of Mumbai Metro One stations. Available at all customer care centres across the metro network, this innovative solution promises enhanced user experience and accessibility.

The development of TapTap wristbands is a result of collaboration between Mumbai Metro One and Billbox Purewrist Tech Solutions, a leading provider of tailored solutions within India's payments and merchant ecosystem. Commuters can purchase and recharge their TapTap wristbands similar to the existing store value pass system, ensuring convenience and flexibility in ticketing options, reports Economic Times.

Metro official highlighted the environmental benefits of TapTap, stating, "This wristband significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to traditional payment methods like plastic cards. It operates without batteries, is waterproof, and offers effortless usability," underscoring its sustainability credentials.

In addition to the TapTap wristbands, Mumbai Metro One has expanded its ticketing options in response to market demand. Commuters now have access to a range of travel products, including return journey tickets, monthly unlimited travel passes, and WhatsApp e-Ticketing, further enhancing flexibility and choice for passengers utilising the metro services.
