Namo Bharat: E-Bus, E-Auto Pressed Into Service At RRTS Stations For Last Mile Connectivity

With the starting of the operation of India's first NaMo Bharat trains in the priority section of Delhi-ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, NCRTC has started convenient feeder services of electric autos and air-conditioned electric buses for commuters' transportation needs.
The electric auto feeder services will be available at all four important stations of the priority section — Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar and Duhai — and their minimum fare will be Rs 10.
These last-mile connectivity options will provide commuters with connected, faster and eco-friendly transportation options for the last leg of their journey.
With this initiative, not only the urban areas like Raj Nagar Extension, Jagriti Vihar and GDA Colony etc. but also important rural areas like Bikanpur, Milak Chakarpur, Shahpur Nij Morta, Basantpur Senthali and Ataur Nagla etc around the Priority Section will be seamlessly connected to RRTS stations.
Along with this, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), at the request of NCRTC, is providing the facility of air-conditioned electric DTC buses from Anand Vihar bus stand to Sahibabad Regional Rapid Transit Service (RRTS) station.
The first AC electric bus will leave from Anand Vihar ISBT at 6.20 am, while the last one will leave for Sahibabad at 9.35 pm. From Sahibabad to Anand Vihar, it will be available from 7.05 am to 22:20 pm.
These buses will be available at Sahibabad and Anand Vihar ISBT at the interval of every 20 minutes.
This initiative by NCRTC aims to provide a solution to the problems faced by commuters due to inadequate number or non-availability of transport options, by bridging the distance between the commuters' destination and public transport.
Moreover, this initiative will not only provide connectivity to RRTS stations but will also ensure seamless movement across the region.
NCRTC is actively integrating these last-mile connectivity services into the bigger transportation system. Dedicated pick-up and drop-off locations have been created at all RRTS stations underscoring NCRTC's commitment towards seamless integration and commuter convenience.
As new sections continue to become operational for the public on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, the range of feeder services will continue to expand, thereby increasing accessibility and convenience for commuters.
On Friday, 20 October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the priority section and flagged off India's first NaMo Bharat train from Sahibabad RRTS station.
