Noida Metro’s Sector 142 To Botanical Garden Corridor Gets Green Light, DPR Sent For Centre's Approval

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) in its 38th board meeting last week approved the detailed project report (DPR) for a 11.56 km metro link that will provide direct connectivity to Delhi Airport (Terminal-1) via the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro.

The link will branch out from Sector 142 station on the Aqua Line of Noida Metro and end at Delhi Metro’s Botanical Garden station. Botanical Garden station is an interchange station for the Blue Line and the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro.

The board meeting was chaired by Jaideep, Officer on Special Duty (UT) & ex-officio Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

It will have a total of eight stations, namely Botanical Garden, Noida Sector 44, Noida Office, Sector 97, Noida Sector 105, Noida Sector 108, Noida Sector 93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College.

The detailed project report, which is estimated at Rs 2,254.35 crore, has been forwarded to the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Government of India for their ultimate approval.

“It will provide direct connectivity to people travelling between Delhi and Noida-Greater Noida. It is estimated that around 80,000 passengers will use this facility daily. The residents of Sector-44, 45, 97, 99, 100, 104, 105, 108 and 93 will benefit from this,” NMRC Managing Director Lokesh M said. 

He further said the line will provide connectivity to Indian Railways stations like New Delhi and Anand Vihar, along with inter-city and intra-city bus stations.
