Railways Achieves 1015.6 Million Tonnes Freight Loading Between April-November 2023

Indian Railways has recorded freight loading of 1,015.669 million tonnes from April to November 2023, surpassing last year's 978.724 million tonnes for the same period—an increase of 36.945 million tonnes.
The national transporter has generated Rs 1,10,007.5 crore compared to Rs 1,05,905.1 crore last year, marking a growth of Rs 4,102.445 crore for the corresponding period.
In November 2023, freight loading reached 128.419 million tonnes, a 4.33 per cent improvement over the 123.088 million tonnes loaded in November 2022.
Freight revenue for November 2023 amounted to Rs 14,077.94 crores, exhibiting a 3.82 per cent increase compared to the Rs 13,559.83 crores earned in November 2022.
In November 2023, Indian Railways achieved loading figures of 65.48 million tonnes in Coal, 14.99 million tonnes in Iron Ore, 5.25 million tonnes in Pig Iron and Finished Steel, 5.58 million tonnes in Cement, 4.61 million tonnes in Clinker, 3.82 million tonnes in Foodgrains, 5.97 million tonnes in Fertilizers, 4.176 million tonnes in Mineral Oil, 6.91 million tonnes in Containers, and 8.59 million tonnes in Balance Other Goods.
Following the mantra "Hungry For Cargo," the Railways has been observed to consistently work on improving the ease of doing business and enhancing service delivery at competitive prices.
Customer-centric approach, coupled with the efforts of Business Development Units and agile policy-making are credited with this achievement.
