Sabarmati multimodal hub, built as part of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project, is expected to be completed by January or February of next year, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

On Tuesday (13 September) , Vaishnaw took a tour of the Sabarmati multimodal hub, which would connect commuters of the bullet train, the Indian Railways, the Ahmedabad Metro, and the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) at Sabarmati.

He stated, "these are being renovated into modern stations with roof plaza and concourse."

Vaishnaw said that the work on the Mumbai section of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train would begin soon as all the necessary permissions, including environment and forest clearances, were quickly received after Eknath Shinde took over as the Maharashtra CM, reports Economic Times

He stated that the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) had taken over the Bandra-Kurla station.

According to Vaishnaw, pillars for the 80-kilometre stretch have been built, and all bullet stations have been constructed. "The work of placing decks, viaducts, tracks, and overhead equipment is moving quickly," he said.

The tender for the undersea tunnel will shortly be floated, said Vaishnaw.

The Railway Minister reaffirmed Union Minister Amit Shah's declaration last month that the Kalupur Ahmedabad Railway Station would be rebuilt using the style of the Modhera Sun Temple.

The government would approve the initiative, the Minister added. The Sabarmati railway station's renovation has already obtained approval.
