Tenders have been invited for the construction of the 89-km greenfield access-controlled corridor from Agra to Gwalior.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which is implementing the six-lane road project, has invited bids in three packages, costing Rs 2,981.99 crore in total.

After the completion of this greenfield corridor, the journey time between the two cities will be reduced to less than one hour. Presently, the route from Agra to Gwalior spans approximately 121 km, requiring 3 to 4 hours for travel.

The congestion on the Agra-Gwalior Highway often limits the average speed to around 40 km per hour, contributing to the extended travel duration.

The road, which will allow speeds of up to 120 kmph, will reduce the travel time to Agra to less than 1 hour, while the journey to Noida can be completed in just three hours.
