The Special Task Force (STF) of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar seized 12th Century Radha-Krishna idols worth approximately Rs 4 Crore on 13 February (Wednesday).
A person named Sayed Zilnoor, a resident of Jadupur, was arrested. The EOW STF Inspector-General Yatindra Koyal informed the media that the perpetrators were planning to smuggle the idols to the international market through Nepal, reported ANI.
Furthermore, it was also informed that the weight of the Radha idol is more than 12 Kg and that of the Krishna idol more than 18 Kg. The STF is still investigating the matter.
