‘Abhadra’, Says Yogi Adityanath On Spraying Of Disinfectant On Migrant Workers In Bareilly

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has termed the spraying of disinfectants on migrant workers in Bareilly as “abhadra” (indescent).
Yogi said on Tuesday (31 March) that strict action would be taken against those responsible for it, reported The Times of India, quoting additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Awasthi.
On 30 March, a journalist shared a video where a group of men squatting on the ground were being sprayed by medical and fire department officials dressed in hazmat suits with a "chemical solution".
After outrage on social media, district magistrate of Bareilly said that an investigation has been launched.
“The affected persons are being treated under the supervision of chief medical officer. Teams of Bareilly municipal corporation and fire brigade were asked to sanitise the bus but due to over-activeness they did that. Orders have been issued to take action against the concerned," the DM said in a tweet.
