After the Union Home Ministry issued late night directive on Friday (26 July) for deployment of additional 10,000 paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been revealed that the development happened after intelligence was confirmed that Pakistan backed terrorist groups are planning to carry out a major attack in India, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The additional troops were rushed to the state of Jammu and Kashmir to bolster the extant security grid and strengthen the counter-terrorism capabilities of the Indian security forces. The decision was taken after National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval held a meeting of the counter-terrorism grid in the state last week.
The inputs on the Pakistan backed terrorists planning to carry out a major terror-strike in India was confirmed by the security and spy agencies. As per the intelligence, terrorist outfits have been asked to carry out an attack on the forces after the Panchayat elections in the state.
NSA Doval is in constant engagement with the various security agencies to keep a tab on the situation in the state, while the Indian Army and the CRPF units are maintaining utmost vigil to foil any unholy bid.
