Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) on Tuesday (October 30) fired back at the claim made by DMK leader MK Stalin that all the ministers in the AIADMK government would be jailed once the Opposition came to power in Tamil Nadu, saying that Stalin would be imprisoned even before his party came to power, reports The Hindu.

The Chief Minister added saying, “You need to see whether he remains outside or inside the jail, if and when the DMK comes to power.”

EPS also claimed that cases against the DMK leader were still pending in the courts and that the DMK was trying to threaten the government as it had lost its former Chief Minister and party stalwart Jayalalithaa. He said, “Since there are many corruption cases against former DMK ministers pending before the courts, the party is trying all these [tactics] with the intent of burying these cases. They expected the AIADMK to break and the government to fall. Both did not happen. They cannot do anything at all.”

He also said that Stalin was the first person to appear before a special court set up to try cases pending against MLAs and MPs following the Supreme Court order. The CM also claimed that the Opposition had filed a case against him based on a false complaint and that the Supreme Court’s stay order on a CBI probe into the allegations raised against him had proved that he was innocent.
