West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a press conference on Saturday (15 June) informed that she has accepted all the demands of agitating junior doctors and appealed to them to return back to work, ANI has reported.

In a far cry from the aggressive stance Mamata had taken till Thursday (13 June), the state Chief Minister appealed all the doctors to resume work and assured that no police action would be taken against them.

“Health services cannot continue like this. I am not going to take any stringent action. Let good sense prevail”, said Mamata who was earlier threatening doctors with consequences if they did not call off their strike.

She added that the state is committed to take all necessary measures to restore normalcy and would bear all medical expenses of the injured doctor.

The reaction of the doctors’ stance is now awaited as according to Mamata they refused to meet senior ministers and principal secretary sent by her and returned back after waiting for five hours.
