Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja with PM Modi (@imjadeja/Twitter)
Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja who is apparently going through a political rift within the family, came out on Monday (16 April) to publicly back the BJP for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
In his tweet which has since then gone viral, Jadeja said that he supports the BJP and also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and mentioned his wife Rivaba Jadeja who had recently joined the BJP.
This move has been interpreted as a sort of a family drama by various social media users as Jadeja’s post came just a day after his father and sister decided to join the Congress party in presence of Patidar leader Hardik Patel. The duo joined the Congress on Sunday (14 April) during an election rally in Gujarat’s Kalavad.
Jadeja’s wife Rivaba had joined the BJP last month and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her decision. She also called him her inspiration.
