AIIMS To Introduce Two-Step Registration Process For MBBS Exam To Remove Discrepancies In Candidate Details

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi has introduced a two-stage online registration process for candidates willing to appear for the MBBS entrance examination, this year. The process includes a basic registration and a final one. The decision was taken after inconsistencies were found in the details filled out by the candidates.
No additional fee will be charged for the basic registration and the details filled will be verified without which the candidate cannot proceed to the final registration. The application form is set to be available at aiimsexams.org soon, reports Indian Express.
The process will begin six months before the current schedule. The candidate is expected the fill in their respective details along with an image which will be verified thoroughly after which they will be informed if their basic registration process has been accepted or rejected with their details stored in a unique identification number.
As per a statement issued by AIIMS, “The candidates will be informed whether their registration is accepted, and their details will be stored with a unique identification number. Thus, candidates will not be subjected to the pressures of a last-minute rush and the fear of rejection of applications without any time left to make amends”.
The basic registration process will close before the examination to prevent further applications being filed. Candidates unwilling to appear the same year can apply during the subsequent year as the details provided by them during the basic registration will be stored and can be used the next time.
The institution would issue admit cards to those candidates who fulfil the laid-out criteria. The prospectus along with the examination city will be uploaded before the start of final registration. The basic registration process starts during November second week while the final registration process will begin in February 2019.
