AIMPLB Decides To Release A Web Series For Raising Awareness Of Sharia

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) announced on Monday that it will soon bring out a legal journal in Urdu and English and also release a web-series to raise awareness of Sharia (Islamic religious law) and Indian laws, Indian Express reports.
Moreover, the organization will also explain court judgements to Muslims as part of this initiative.
“The working committee of AIMPLB passed a resolution to start a Sharia awareness webseries. It also decided to start a legal journal in the Urdu and English languages,” AIMPLB stated in a tweet.
Syed Mohammad Wali Rahmani, general secretary of AIMPLB, revealed that the web-series will be created in an interview-discussion format. It will also analyze judgements of Supreme Court and the High Court to make it more understandable for the common people.
“Not just Sharia, we will also focus on the country’s laws and judgments,” Rahmani was quoted in the report. Board member Asma Zehra will prepare the blueprint for the web-series and lawyers namely Zafaryab Jilani, Yusuf Hatim Muchhala and MR Shamshed will participate in the process.
The plan for the legal journal will be prepared in Urdu and English by MR Shamshed and it will then be presented to the general secretary. In fact, the board is also considering initiating a nationwide campaign in order to protect Waqf properties.
“The Waqf Act was prepared and approved after a lot of hard work. It has provisions to safeguard Waqf properties from being sold. But efforts are being made from several quarters to make changes to these provisions, which can threaten the safeguarding of Waqf properties. So, it was decided that for the safety of Waqf properties, a campaign should be launched across the country,” AIMPLB’s Urdu statement read.
