Airtel Digital TV has announced a new scheme wherein existing subscribers would be able to get a free upgrade to the XStream set-top-box if they are also a customer of Airtel's Broadband service, Dream DTH has reported.
The eligible subscribers would thus be able to get the XStream box by paying a Rs 1,500 refundable security deposit.
As per a notification by Airtel, the subscribers need to have a broadband plan of at least Rs 799 to receive the XStream box at a discounted price.
Besides paying the Rs 1,500 security deposit the subscribers would need to buy a content pack of Rs 452 to activate the box. In case of a secondary connection this amount will come down to Rs 360.
Under this Rs 452 pack, the customers would be free to pick the channels of their choice. Subsequently the subscribers would have to pay a minimum of Rs 153 per month to keep the set top box active. They will be able to watch all the free channels under this amount.
