Even as relations between India and China have headed down the valley in the last three weeks with the Doklam plateau issue at the Bhutan tri-junction, India’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval is set to visit Beijing for the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) NSA meet later this month.

Doval, who is also the special representative for the India-China border, is likely to meet his Chinese counterpart State Councillor Yang Jiechi on 27, 28 July on the sidelines of the meet.

This is the second crucial meeting in the light of the unpleasantness surrounding the two nations after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘conversation’ with Chinese President Xi Jinping; they had attended the BRICS leaders’ meeting in Hamburg last week.
