Kumar Vishwas
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas has criticised the party’s double standards over corruption, without naming anyone.
The attack, which seems to have been directed against the AAP government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was unleashed through a video on Twitter. Vishwas, in the 13-minute video, has addressed a variety of issues from Kashmir to Pakistan, and has accused the Delhi government of pretending to be anti-corruption crusaders while harbouring their own men who are facing corruption allegations.
"If in Delhi you form a government on the anti-corruption plank with the promise of freedom from corruption and fall silent and try to protect your own people when they come under the scanner, you will be questioned by people," he says.
AAP reacted to the video by describing it as a measure of democracy within. Kejriwal has even declared it as shaandaar and one which shakes you up from within.
Addressing broader issues, Vishwas said India is beyond governments which are not permanent. “…it is about five years...10 years...25 years... but India is beyond all this and will be there for thousands of years even after we are all gone”.
“My message is clear. I have said country first, politics later. I don't want to say anything beyond that. Each is free to interpret the message his own way,” Vishwas told The Times of India.
