Amarinder Singh Led Punjab Govt Introduces Bills To Negate The Impact Of Centre's New Farm Laws

Amarinder Singh led Punjab government on Tuesday (20 October) introduced three bills in the state assembly aimed at negating the impact of the centre's recently implemented farm laws, The Hindu has reported.
During the assembly proceedings Singh moved a draft resolution rejecting the centre's farm laws.
The state Bills seek to amend the Civil Procedure Code, apart from The Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act; The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act; and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.
After Parliament passed three Bills on these issues amid opposition protests, President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent, following which the government issued a gazette notification on 27 September.
It has been reported that following the passage of new Farm Bills at the centre, FPCs in Maharashtra are now increasingly bypassing APMC Mandis to sell directly to private players and in one instances also distributed a share of profits to the farmers.
