Abdul Sattar a Congress MLA from Sillod, Maharashtra has taken away 300 chairs from the party office after being upset at being denied a lok sabha ticket, Press Trust of India has reported.

The MLA was quoted as saying that he has decided to quit the party and as a result took away 300 chairs which he owned, from the party office in Aurangabad.

As per the report, the local Congress unit called for a joint meeting with the NCP in Gandhi Bhawan located at Shahgunj but before the meeting, Sattar and his supporters took away 300 chairs from the venue.

The lack of chars meant that the meeting venue had to be shifted to the NCP office.

Sattar was angered after his party denied him the Aurangabad Lok Sabha ticket. The ticket instead went to Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Subash Zhambad.

“Yes the chairs were mine and we were providing them for Congress meetings. Now I have left the party so took my chairs back. Those who got the candidature should make arrangements for the campaign”, Sattar said.

The Congress is yet to accept his resignation.
