Anil Agarwal led Vedanta Limited is planning to invest Rs 10,000 crore to set up an aluminium park in Odisha on the lines of major industrial towns in other parts of the country, reports Economic Times.
The said aluminium park in Odisha’s Jharsuguda will facilitate companies to set up their manufacturing units. Vedanta expects that this would go on to create an additional livelihood for more than a lakh people and touch the lives of more than four lakh people.
Vedanta, which already has its aluminium smelter plant in Jharsuguda said that it is committed to supplying three lakh metric tonnes of molten aluminium to the downstream SME and MSME industries who shall set up their facilities in the proposed aluminium park.
The company is presently discussing the details with the Odisha government to finalise the project.
Founded in 1979, Vedanta also has a presence in iron ore and gold mining, crude oil extraction, electricity generation, and production of copper, steel and zinc etc.
