Another Name For Reliability: ISRO Successfully Launches HysIS And 30 Foreign Satellites Into Designated Orbits

ISRO’s PSLV C43 successfully launched HysIS and 30 other satellites into orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Thursday (29 November), Times Of India has reported. The rocket was launched at 9.58 am this morning. The Indian satellite HysIS was inserted into the sun synchronous polar orbit at an altitude of 636 kilometre.
The launch was conducted with core alone version of PSLV (which is the lightest version). PSLV is a four stage rocket with alternate solid and liquid stages.
HysIS has a mission lifespan of five years. It will study the earth’s surface in visible, near infrared and shortwave infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
The smaller satellites are from eight different countries with 23 of them from the US and rest from Australia, Canada, Columbia, Finland, Malaysia, Netherlands and Spain.
The co-passengers of HysIS included one Micro and 29 Nano satellites. The total weight of these co-passenger satellites was 261.5 kg. All these satellites were placed in a 504 km orbit by PSLV-C43.
