West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while addressing a large Eid gathering in the state invoked the famous Hindi dialogue, Jo humse takrayega, woh choor choor ho jayega (Anyone who challenges us, will be shattered to pieces) to target her political opponents, India Today has reported.

Mamata also launched an attack on the BJP by comparing its rise in Bengal with the sun by erroneously claiming that when the sun rises it is initially very harsh but slowly dissipates in intensity. She also alleged that the BJP came to power by “capturing EVMs”.

This aggressive posturing by Mamata comes after BJP’s Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya claimed that the Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government won’t be able to complete its full term as it would be hit by a mass exodus of Trinamool MLAs.

Vijayvargiya added that the government would fall way before the 2021 state assembly polls as a large number of its legislators are ready to rebel and quit the party. He added that the prospect of Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee succeeding her in the future is fuelling disquiet among the party ranks.
