Arnab Goswami
Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami’s interrogation by the Mumbai Police finally ended after a marathon grilling of twelve and a half hours. He was called into the N M Joshi Marg police station at 9 AM today morning (27 April) for his comments against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Arnab during his recent show had questioned Sonia Gandhi’s silence over lynching of Sadhus in Palghar. This had resulted in a barrage of cases by Congress functionaries.
The interrogation began at around 9.20 AM in the morning after which he was seen taking a brief 2 minute break with his lawyer.
Following his release Arnab issued a brief statement in which he confirmed that the interrogation today pertained to his comments on Sonia Gandhi.
“I have made it very clear that I stand by my comments. I have made it absolutely clear that everything I said is correct”, said Arnab who claimed the Mumbai police is satisfied with his responses. He added that the Republic TV’s coverage into the Palghar case will continue.
The Republic TV had reported yesterday (27 April) that the Mumbai police had sent Arnab two notices within a span of 12 hours seeking to immediately interrogate him over his comments against Sonia Gandhi.
Meanwhile the two assailants who had attacked Arnab’s car were given bail today by a local Mumbai court. Arnab and Republic TV have strongly maintained that the due were members of the Youth Congress who were asked to carry out the attack by their higher ups.
