Article 370 Will Be Abrogated After BJP Gets Majority in Both Houses of Parliament, Says Amit Shah

Reiterating Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) long promised agenda against Article 370 of the Indian constitution which gives special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, BJP's party president Amit Shah said on Friday (19 April 2019) that his party would abrogate the said article of the constitution after they get a majority in both houses of the parliament, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, reports The Economic Times.
Presently, the BJP doesn't enjoy a majority in the Rajya Sabha, which has led to several of its bills remaining unpassed despite a thumping majority in the Lok Sabha.
Addressing a rally at Dharampur in the Valsad district of Gujarat which goes to polls on the upcoming 23 April 2019, Shah underscored that the principal issue in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections was national security and that only BJP can provide it.
"Only Modi can make India a superpower," he added while alleging that when the entire country was celebrating India's response to Pulwama attack in Balakot, the Congress was mourning and upset like Pakistan.
"We can understand why Pakistan was upset. But why Rahul Gandhi's party was grieving when terrorists were killed?" he asked.
Shah was there to campaign for Dr KC Patel, sitting BJP MP and candidate from Valsad.
