The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to the party supporters and well-wishers to pray for the recovery of his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi whose health recently worsened, The New Indian Express reported.
Akbaruddin Owaisi is the floor leader of AIMIM in the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He represents the Chandrayangutta segment in the state assembly.

Addressing AIMIM workers at the annual Eid Milap in Darussalaam, Asaduddin Owaisi confirmed on Saturday (Jun 10) that his brother’s health condition has deteriorated
“I give you my warm Eid greeting and appeal to you to pray of Akbaruddin Owaisi's health. He has left for treatment. I got know that his health has deteriorated a little again. May Allah keep him safe and keep him in good health,” Asaduddin Owaisi said.
Akbaruddin Owaisi has been often seeking treatment ever since he was grievously injured in a brutal attack in 2011 in Barkas. He was shot at and critically wounded while travelling in a Gypsy jeep for a rally near Barkas. The attack was carried out by the followers of another local strongman Mohammed Pehlwan, who was aligned with the breakaway Islamic outfit Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) party. A property dispute was believed to be the trigger for the attack.
Akbaruddin Owaisi staged a recovery from the attack but to this day, fragments of the bullet are lodged near his spine, complicating his health further. He has been constantly bogged down by health issue is related to his intestines.
In contrast to this elder brother who enjoys reputation of being a thoughtful speaker, Akbaruddin Owaisi has a history of making incendiary speeches
In 2007, he issued death threats against Tasleema Nasreen, pledging that the fatwa against her and Salman Rushdie will be executed.
In 2011, Owaisi used the derogatory terms Kafirs and Kufrastan to refer to MLAs in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Assembly.
In a widely circulated speech in 2012 that sent shockwaves among the members of Hindu community, Owaisi made obscene comments against Hindu god Rama and his mother Kaushalya. Owaisi asked "Where all did Ram's mother go wandering and where did she give birth to him.
