As Taliban Advances In Afghanistan, India Joins Other Nations To Assert Forced Govt In Kabul Won't Be Recognised

India and several other countries have said that any government imposed by military force in Afghanistan would not be recognised and also called for an immediate ceasefire in the war-torn country.
The development comes as Taliban has reportedly seized major cities in Afghanistan including Kandahar and Herat, second and third largest cities respectively in the war-torn country and the strategic provincial capital of Ghazni.
A statement issued by Qatar following a meeting of special envoys and representatives of India, Germany, Norway, Qatar, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan in Doha on Thursday (12 August) said that the countries reaffirmed that "they will not recognize any government in Afghanistan that is imposed through the use of military force".
The statement also highlighted the urgent need to accelerate the process to find a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan, reports Hindustan Times.
According to the report, Taliban have so far taken 12 out of 34 provincial capitals and the capture of Ghazni has cut off the highway between Kabul and the southern city of Kandahar.
Afghan govt has been saying that 10,000 foreign terrorists Fighters representing 20 groups including Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-taiba, TTP, IMU, ETIM, and ISIL have entered the country and fighting along with the Taliban, reports WION.
