Two men, Shahrukh Khan and Subahan Khan, were arrested on Sunday (9 June) after an FIR was lodged over by a group of female dancers who were molested and asked to strip themselves naked by the organisers during a function organised to celebrate Eid in Chaygaon Asolpara in Western Assam’s Kamrup district, reports News18.
The group which had 42 members gave a complaint to the Chaygaon police station upon which an FIR has been lodged against the miscreants; Kuddus Ali, Sayed Khan, Atikul Islam, Shamsuddin, Jeherul Islam, and Abbas Ali.
“Our female dancers were asked to undress to dance in front of around 700 people. They pelted stones at our vehicle. Somehow, we escaped from the spot. They threatened to kill the members of our dance group,” said the statement by Arup D Rabha, the director of the dance group, in the FIR.
“We were contacted for a dance show by one Sanjay Choudhury and had a conversation with Kuddus Ali over the phone on 7 June 2019. A contract of Rs 37,000 was signed between the parties. Accordingly, we reached the spot at around 8 pm. Later, we were forced to enter into a barricaded place and female dancers were molested,” elaborated the complainant.
