The central government has set up a target of establishing 12,500 Ayush centres across India, 4,000 of which will be set up this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday (30 August), reports The New Indian Express.
The Prime Minister said this while speaking at a Yoga Awards ceremony. He also emphasised on the need to create a homogenous system by creating an "Ayush grid" on the lines of one nation, one tax and one nation, one mobility card.
PM said that this will elimintate silos in the area of Ayush. "We are opening 1.5 lakh health, wellness centres," he added.
He also pitched for connecting technology with tradition in the practice of Ayush medicine.
He said the government was working towards bringing in more professionals in the field of Ayush and necessary steps are being taken in this regard.
During his speech, the Prime Minister also stressed on the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat for the common masses and said that it has saved more than Rs 12,000 crore of the poor people of the country.
