BJP’s Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya (@zeesalaamtweet/Twitter)
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s national working president summoned and pulled up the party's Member of Parliament (MP) from Bhopal, Pragya Singh Thakur over her controversial remarks seen to be mocking the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's pet campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, reports The Hindu.
Addressing BJP workers at a meeting in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday (21 July), Thakur had said that the job of an MP is to work with MLAs, corporators and public representatives to ensure development. She said, "So keep this in mind. We are not here for cleaning a drain. Is it clear? We are absolutely not (here) for cleaning your toilets."
However, she further added, "The work which we are supposed to do and elected for, we will do it honestly. This we had said in the past, saying it today and stick to it in future as well,”
This is not the first time that the Bhopal MP has put BJP in a spot. Earlier, during the Lok Sabha polls campaigning, she had lauded Nathuram Godse following which PM Modi himself went on to say it on record that he would not be able to forgive her.
