As early counting of votes continues across the country in the current Lok Sabha elections, the BJP may be all set to sweep all the seats in the two hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in a similar fashion as 2014.
The party leads in Uttarakhand’s five seats, as well as Himachal Pradesh’s four seats. Former chief of BJP’s Uttarkhand unit Tirath Singh Rawat is leading from the Garhwal constituency, while former BJP chief minister of the state Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has taken the lead in the Hardwar seat.
BJP candidate Anurag Kumar Thakur is leading from the Hamirpur constituency in Himachal Pradesh.
