BJP seems to be sprawling its lead against the Mahagathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh in early trends. The saffron party is holding on to the challenge, which includes the caste arithmetic posed by the Mahagathbandhan. The party is currently leading on 39 seats.
The big lead in early trends for BJP in Uttar Pradesh seems to be coming in from Aligarh, where Satish Kumar Gautam is leading against Mahagathbandhan's Ajit Baliyan.
BJP is leading in Chandauli, Faizabad, Jhansi, Hathras, Bulandshahar and Deoria, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur. Mahagathbandhan has an edge in Amroha where Kunwar Danish Ali is leading against BJP's Kanwar Singh Tanwar.
While Varanasi candidate and BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi has steered ahead in a clear lead, the BJP is currently trailing in constituencies believed to be tough in the western part of the state, including Saharanpur, Bijnor and Nagina.
