Tata Tigor
Tata Motors has slashed the price of its electric car Tigor by Rs 80,000 to pass on the GST rate cut benefits to its customers, Autocar India has reported.
As a result of this price cut, the Tigor variants namely - XE, XM and XT would be available at an ex-showroom price ranging between Rs 11.58 lakh and Rs 11.92 lakh.
The car buyers would also be able to avail electric vehicle subsidy under the government’s FAME II initiative. After including this subsidy, Tigor would be available at an ex-showroom price between Rs 9.96-10.30 lakh. This price excludes the 1 per cent TCS levied by the government on cars priced above Rs 10 lakh.
The Tata Tigor EV comes with a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor powered by 16.2kWh battery to produce 41 horsepower. Tata pegs Tigor’s range at 146 KM in a single charge and charging takes about six hours to get 80 per cent full.
The company claims that the same amount of charging can be done in just 90 minutes by using a 15 kW DC fast charger.
Tigor is currently not available for personal use and can only be bought for commercial and official purposes.
