Pakistani troops on Thursday resorted to unprovoked shelling and at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region's Poonch district.
Defence spokesman, lieutenant colonel, Manish Mehta told IANS, "The troops violated bilateral ceasefire in Bhimber Ghali (BG) sector of the LoC. They used mortars to target our positions."
The shelling stopped at 3.30 a.m., however small arms and automatic gunfire exchanges continued, Mehta added.
On Wednesday, Pakistani troops shelled Indian positions Tarkundi area of Rajouri district.
