The Border Security Force (BSF) troopers deployed along the International Border (IB) in Tarn Taran of Punjab today (22 August) gunned down five intruders who were trying to enter Indian territory from the Pakistani side, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The BSF jawans from 103 Battalion upon spotting the suspicious movement of the intruders made repeated attempts to dissuade them. However, their attempts were met with firing by the intruders.
In response to the firing by intruders, BSF jawans retaliated in self-defence, and shot them down. Following this, the force has also launched an intensive search operation. The local police have been roped in to investigate the matter, and the bodies of the intruders have also been recovered.
As per a report on the development by Hindustan Times, an AK assault rifle and a rucksack have also been recovered from one of the intruder's bodies.
