Education sector, in the union Budget for the financial year (FY) 2020-21, has been announced to be given Rs 99,300 Crore.
While acknowledging that India was going to have the largest working-age population in the world by 2030, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday (1 February) said the government would take steps to deliver higher quality education to the youth.
She further introduced a plan under which top 100 educational institutions in the country will be offering degree-level full-fledged online education programmes.
The FM also assured that the new education policy for the country would be launched soon.
