CBSE To Introduce Three-Step Location Enabled Security Using Mobile App To Curb Cheating, Paper Leaks

In the quest to keep a check on cases of cheating and paper leaks, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has requested all centre superintendents to ‘compulsorily use’ a mobile application- CMTM-CS app on exam days for a three-step location enabled security process dealing with question papers of the main subjects. This is the first time that CBSE is using this application.
“The app must be used for collection of question papers, at the time of opening sealed packets in the control room of exam centre, and at the time of sealing of question papers after the exams,” said a notification issued by the board as reported by Hindustan Times.
“Such an application is being used for the first time, and it is essential that it is used properly as the application is password protected. The uploading of the data with the CBSE will happen daily,” said Ranveer Singh, regional director of CBSE Dehradun zone.
Furthermore, the notification said that the centre supervisors must ensure that their correct cell phone numbers are registered with the Board. The board has also warned the supervisors that the application has location and time sensitivity and shall reflect the right position and cannot be tampered with.
