In an official white paper released by China's State Council Information Office, Beijing has admitted that India has suffered at the hands of terrorism and extremism, reports The Economic Times.

The paper listed India among the nations which have been impacted by terrorist attacks and has observed that since the 1990s, the global spread of extremism have wrought havoc, categorically pointing at the expanding threat from pan-Turkism and pan-Islamism.

Other nations to have been listed in the paper as victims of terrorism include United States, Spain, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Egypt, Russia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka among others.

The paper further stressed that the world peace is under grave threat. It read, "The future of humanity is overshadowed."

This comes at the backdrop of China's major crackdown on its Turkic Muslim minority, the Uighurs. China has detained over a million Muslims in camps set up in Xinjiang province where constant movements have been observed for the creation of a separate nation called 'East Turkistan'.
