China's 'Gross Aggression' Driving Force Behind Deadly Clash At Ladakh's Galwan Between Indian, Chinese Troops: US

The US State Department on Tuesday (6 October) referred to the deadly Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops and said that it was a result of China's sudden turn towards "gross aggression" in its entire periphery, reports ANI.
A State Department official while addressing a press briefing on US Secretary of State Mike Pence's visit to Tokyo said that the past conflicts between India and China in the Himalayan region were handled "according to unspoken or unwritten rules" to prevent any escalation.
"If you look at the conflict on the – in the Himalayas between China and India, something that has been in the past handled according to unspoken or unwritten rules in the past to prevent these things from getting out of control," the official said.
However, the official said, that the driving force behind recent clash in the Himalayan region where troops from both sides "beat each other to death" is a "sudden turn toward gross aggression by the Chinese Government in its entire periphery".
It should be noted that on 15 June, a deadly clash took place between Indian and Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops. As many as 20 Indian soldiers and unknown number of Chinese PLA troops were killed in the clash.
