A global poll hosted by Pew Research Center has revealed that China’s unpopularity has soared to an all-time high, reports Hindustan Times.
The poll was conducted in 14 advanced economies, and a majority of the people who participated in the poll in each of these nations had negative views about China. The median of 73 per cent people held such views overall.
Also, it should be noted that the unfavourable views of China emerged highest in Australia, followed by nations like Germany, the United Kingdom (UK), the United States (US), Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Sweden and South Korea.
In Australia, a whopping 81 per cent of those who participated in the poll held a negative view of China, 24 per cent higher than last year’s poll.
Similarly, the negative views held by people about China has grown in double digits over the last year in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, the US, Spain and South Korea.
It should be noted that Pew Research Centre began to track the subject more than a decade ago and organises a global poll each year.
