The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be adding an extra pair of eyes at the prominent exits like airports and Delhi Metro to capture prominent individuals who are wanted by Indian Agencies and trying to escape.

Top bosses at CISF are in touch with various software firms specialising in video analytics and facial recognition to identify and catch people trying to escape from the country and on the wanted list, reports India Today.

Such software is considered "a must have" in various western countries. They keep a watch on passengers in cases where the human eye fails. According to sources, CISF is talking to different Indian and foreign software companies which offered solutions.

Both Delhi metro and airport are very busy with around six lakh flyers and 28 lakh footfalls everyday respectively. Despite many cameras installed, they need much more tech to keep an eye over a heavy amount of people appearing in one frame.

The security measures may first be deployed at the Delhi Metro since the security expenditures at airports need clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).

After security agencies like state police, Intelligence Bureau (IB) or the Home Ministry provide data, the the software will scan throughout lakhs of people throughout the day, and if any person is listed, a team if CISF will be alerted by the control panel.

To get a better insight, DG CISF Rajesh Ranjan and top officers attended the Aviation Security Symposium (AVSEC 2018) in Canada, where the use of AI and security solutions were discussed.

Further, the CISF is also looking into the security solutions at the worlds busiest airport, the Heathrow Airport to see the effectiveness of the technology.
