Chief Justice of India Rajnan Gogoi on Monday (6 May) was given a clean chit by the three judge in-house committee constituted to probe sexual harassment allegations against him levelled by a former junior court assistant, Bar and Bench has reported.
The committee led by Justice S A Bobade concluded that there is no substance in the allegations made by the woman. The committee’s report would be submitted to the next senior judge competent to receive the report.
The notice issued by the committee on the official website also stated that the report is not liable to be made public.
Earlier, he woman who had accused the CJI walked out of the inquiry stating that she felt she was “not likely to get justice”. The CJI had appeared before the committee
An inquiry led by former SC judge Justice A K Patnaik has also been initiated into allegations of a conspiracy behind the accusations of sexual harassment against the Chief Justice.
