In Bisalpur (Pilibhit), Rauhaniya village, communal tensions soared high on Tuesday when men from a particular community ransacked a Hindu temple over Bhajan-Kirtan being played on loudspeakers, reports Jagran.
The men entered the temple situated at the outskirts of the village around 9 pm, and tried to stop the ongoing Bhajan-Kirtan that happens every evening. They said that the Eid was next day and it was time for the Namaz. People participating in the temple ceremonies argued that the Namaz was broadcast inside the village while the temple is situated outside. This led to an altercation between the two groups.
The men broke the wire of the loudspeaker, destroyed the religious calender at the place and threw away the photos of the deities. The police arrived at the site and took the situation under control.
An FIR has been registered against five accused and efforts are on to arrest them, informed Pilibhit police.
