Confident Of Achieving $5 Trillion Goal: PM Modi Says “Professional Pessimists” Are Doubting Indians’ Competence

A day after the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the Union Budget for 2019-20 fiscal by asserting that the budget would pave way for India to grow into a $5 trillion economy by 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Saturday (6 July) snubbed those doubting the target, reports Asian News International (ANI).
PM Modi, while expressing confidence about the goal set by his Government said that those who are casting doubt over the target of making India a $5 trillion economy were professional pessimists. PM also stressed that the goal was achievable.
"We are very confident about achieving the goal of $5 trillion economy in the next five years but their are some who are casting doubts over the competence of Indians. They ask what the need of it is and why it is being done. We can call such people professional pessimists," said PM Modi.
"They have mastery to turn solutions into a problem. The country needs to be vigilant of these pessimists," underscored PM Modi. He was addressing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers when he made the statement. He also talked at length about the first budget of his second tenure.
